1. Who we are

Proper Speeches is run by a sole trader based in the UK. Email: properspeeches@gmail.com.

2. What you're buying

For £39 Standard or £69 Express (both including any VAT) you get:

• a written wedding speech based on your questionnaire answers
• a cue-card version and delivery notes
• up to 2 rounds of edits

We deliver by email, as an editable Google Doc.

3. How we write it

Our speechwriting system uses AI tools to write drafts, working only from the information you give us. Every draft is checked against our quality list and read and signed off by a person before we send it. You should read the speech in full before you give it, and check anything personal with the people it mentions.

4. Timing

Standard: we send your first draft within 24 hours of receiving a complete questionnaire. If we send you follow-up questions, the clock restarts when you answer them. Express: we send your first draft within 12 hours of your questionnaire, and we don't send follow-up questions; anything we're unsure about is flagged in your delivery notes instead. Each round of edits comes back within 24 hours of your request (12 on Express). If we miss the Express deadline, we refund the difference between Express and Standard. If we can't deliver before your wedding, we refund you in full.

5. Your information

You're responsible for what you tell us. Only share stories and details you're comfortable being used in your speech. Don't send anything you don't have the right to share. We won't include anything from your “topics to avoid” answer.

6. Starting straight away and your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations you normally have 14 days to cancel a service. When you pay, you ask us to start work straight away, inside that 14-day period.

• If you cancel before we send your first draft, we refund the full price you paid.
• If you cancel after your first draft but before we've finished your edits, we refund the full price under our guarantee (section 7).
• Once we've delivered your speech and you've used your edits, or 14 days have passed since your first draft, the service is complete. Your right to cancel ends there.

To cancel, email properspeeches@gmail.com with your name and the email you paid with.

7. Our guarantee

If you've asked for your 2 rounds of edits and the speech still isn't right, email us within 14 days of your first draft. We refund the full price you paid. You don't need to give a reason. Refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 working days of your request.

8. Using your speech

The finished speech is yours to use, change and share however you like. We won't publish it or show it to anyone else. We may reuse general phrasing and structure, never your stories or anyone's personal details.

9. Our responsibility to you

We write with care, but we can't control how a speech is received on the day. Our total liability to you is limited to the price you paid, except where the law doesn't allow us to limit it. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights, including your right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill.

10. Complaints and law

If something goes wrong, email us first and we'll reply within 24 hours. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts.
